Just a reminder to people who love to add everything you own to your timing notebook. The hot sync program that comes with Palm Pilots and similar devices grabs COM 1. You will then find that it is unavailable when you are using a timing program. Go into the Hot Sync menu and change the LOCAL address to something else. COM 2 usually works as it is a legal port for modems. Exit and try your program again. Originally posted 30 Dec 2000 by Fred Patton | ||

Don't even install one of these devices! I just blew my COM1 port with trying to reinstall a Palm VX. I think that a static charge killed the port even though Palm claims there is no problem with static from their devices. | |||
