We have been asked to help with photo finish during a skiing event in February and need to know how the camera will work in cold weather. I live in Sweden so the temperature can goe as low as -20 degres Celsius at this time a year.

Fine. Just make sure you keep the camera (this applies to all brands) and the lense outside prior to use. Taking it right out of the heated building and trying to set it up could cause the lense and or sensor element to get frost buildup. Also, make sure you have the ability to wipe it down if you take it from the extreme cold indoors as you will get fogging and moisture buildup.
I have personally run digital photofinish equipment outdoors in extreme cold since 1999 without problems with the proper precautions. |
