I believe that Gill display board was used at the USATF Indoor Nationals in Boston. We had those connected to the FieldLynx units via serial cable. Since the scoreboard scripts for FieldLynx and FinishLynx are similar, I think the Gill display board will work with the FinishLynx system. Take at look at the Gill_2x2.lss script. -- Justin
I knew they could accept input via serial, I just am not familiar with how the running clocks work with finishlynx. I wasn't sure if the running clocks received a start and then counted on their own or if finishlynx was actually sending the times to the board and it was simply displaying everything finishlynx was telling it to.
For the most part, FinishLynx treats the scoreboard as a blank slate. As you suggested, the text on the display is completely controlled by the FinishLynx scoreboard script. As a time or score changes in Finishlynx, it is repeatedly sent to the scoreboard. -- Justin
