Has anyone any luck getting bluetooth serial to work on scoreboard clocks? I tried an Iogear one but it didnt work. It seems the BT makes an incoming com port and an outgoing com port with separate numbers and neither worked.

I've never tried any sort of rs232 over bluetooth device before. I have however used ZigBee modems before to connect a seiko thermal printer to a timer base as a proof of concept. It was a while back and I haven't done any work with it recently, but I remember the setup was really simple.

well, I think the bluetooth stack doesnt create a true serial port, which is why is makes an incoming and outgoing with 2 different port numbers. Just to be safe, I went with wifi, ordered one of these.

I know SeriaLynx is the same thing and cheaper but one of my serial devices is a lap counter that cannot be controlled through finishlynx so I needed them independent of the Lynx software. I'll run my clock off one port and the lap counter on the other.
