The track at my home site is being resurfaced. I thought it would be a good opportunity to create a permanent position for my pole, but I want to be able to remove the pole after our events. By ground sleeve I mean a steel tube that would be permanently installed in a hole in the rubber surface on the inside of the track into which I can insert and remove my FinishLynx pole. Our contractor is looking for specs and I'm wondering if anyone has any already drawn up. Thanks!
Be careful about placement of the camera pole and where the finish line is painted. If the camera mounts come off to the side of the pole parallel to the running direction, the pole needs to be ahead of or behind the actual finish line by atleast 1/2 the width of the camera. I was at one track where they put the line where the pole sleeve was so the camera was ahead of the finish line, you could swivel the sensor off of vertical to get a proper looking picture or use a tripod and get a proper time.
