These photos exhibit an interesting patchiness, due to the fact that the refresh rate on the video wall is way faster than the shutter speed of my camera. I should have commented on this long ago...
I can tell you how well I know this board, from the hardware side. If I remember correctly, this display is 6 displays wide and 4 high. Each display ways lots (100 pounds or so). We had to jury rig a pulley system to drag each one into place and lock it down. The first row has to perfectly in the same plane or the panels above will not lock down. Once we started to put this together, it took us about a day to lift each panel up to the working platform, then lift it again in place. Roman from Alge was off installing something somewhere, so I had to climb around on the top. Next year I will remember to bring my climbing harnesses. But, The Skunk sure made it look pretty cool once we powered it up. And, it does draw LOTS of power. Mike |
