Every year, when the Precision / Skunkware timing team arrives in Kitzbühel for the Hahnenkamm-Rennen, we go through a process with the KSC during which we show them all the new hardware / software improvements & innovations we've prepared for them, and they show us all the new infrastructure upgrades they've prepared for us.

For 2010, among KSC's upgrades was a jaw-dropping new main banana patch panel in the Zielhaus. I've never seen anything remotely like it in ski racing, even at venues known for really nice timing infrastructure. It looks like it was designed and built by McLaren or Sauber.

This permanent panel replaces two removable briefcase-sized plastic patch boxes, both of which used to be connected to a bus mounted on the wall via a snake. Unfortunately, I have looked through my photo archives and can't find a photo of the old arrangement.

A really effective and elegant solution engineered by the boffins at KSC teknik.
